Newly Appointed Canadian Consul Mr. Claude Demers of Consulate General - Shanghai Visited ZISU


Recently, newly appointed Canadain Consul Mr. Claude Demers from Foreign Policy and External Affairs Office of Canadian Consulate General - Shanghai paid a visit to ZISU together with Ms. Zhao Weiqing from Foreign Policy and External Affairs Office as well as Ms. Wong Yedi from Department of Foreign and Oversea Chinese Affairs of Zhejiang Provience. Deputy Party Secretary, Prof. Zhao Fa was invited and received the guests.

 

Zhao Fa introduced ZISU’s translation and research on Canadian literary works, and briefly introduced ZISU at the same time, and exchanged views with guests on issues of setting up Canadian research center in ZISU, sino-foreign cooperative education programs, student exchange and hosting ZISU Canadian culture festival, and expressed the wishes to cooperate.

 

Mr. Claude Demers appreciated ZISU’s translation of Canadian literary works, and supported inter-university cooperation and communication programs. He said that Sino-Canadian relations is developing favorably, the year of 2015 and 2016 are Sino-Canadian culture exchange years, thus he hoped to cooperate with ZISU in cultural and academic communications, so that to implement the achievement of Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Harper’s visit to China and deepen the cooperation between China and Canada.

 

The people participated in reception include related directors form Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation and Department of Academic Research.
