Zhang Huanzhou, President and Deputy Party Secretary of ZISU, met with a delegation led by José Antonio Mayoral, Rector of UNIZAR in Spain on March 12, and renewed the cooperative education program agreement between the two universities. Francisco Jose Vicente Beltrán Lloris, Vice-Rector of UNIZAR, and Chai Gaiying, Vice President and Member of the Party Committee of ZISU, participated in the event.

Zhang highly commended the achievements of the two universities' collaborative education in talent cultivation and cultural exchange over the past eight years, and praised Rector Mayoral for promoting extensive and effective cooperation between UNIZAR and China under the concept of sustainable development. She noted that in today's globalized context, it is of great significance and necessity for Chinese and Spanish universities to leverage educational power to foster people-to-people connectivity and cultural exchange. Zhang put forward three proposals for deepening cooperation between the two universities:enhance the quality of the joint program; expand cooperation for spillover effects; and strengthen exchanges to build a two-way interactive platform.

Mayoral congratulated ZISU on its leapfrog development. He emphasized that ZISU is UNIZAR's core strategic partner in China in the field of humanities and social sciences, and the "foreign language plus tourism" education model has injected new vitality into the development of cultural tourism industries in both regions. UNIZAR is willing to facilitate in-depth cooperation between the two universities in academic research, promote exchanges of Spanish students to China, strengthen interactions between young students and faculty from both countries, promote the sharing of educational resources and cultural exchange, and contribute more to regional economic development.

Participants also exchanged views on deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions. During their stay on campus, the delegation communicated with representatives of ZISU faculty and students, and held special working meetings on specific cooperation projects.

Leaders from the Division of International Exchange and Cooperation, the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, PersonnelDivision, Talent Office, Academic AffairsDivision, and the School of European Languages and Cultures, attended the meeting.
