On October 25, 2025, Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU) will celebrate its 70th anniversary. Since the release of the first announcement, preparations have been steadily advancing, thanks to the keen interest and strong support from all faculty and staff, students, alumni at home and abroad, and friends from all walks of life. Here, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude and highest regard to you all!
Adhering to the principle of hosting a “grand, economical, pragmatic and innovative” celebration, we have carefully planned a series of academic and cultural activities under the theme of “70 Years’ Glory and a Brighter Future”. We warmly anticipate the gathering of leaders at all levels, global alumni, and distinguished members of society on campus to join this grand event, reconnect with old friends, share insights for development, and forge ahead together on the new journey of building a foreign studies university of international prestige.

I. Theme
70 Years’ Glory and a Brighter Future!
“70 Years’ Glory” conveys the university’s unwavering commitment to education over the past seven decades, its enduring legacy of arduous work and reform-driven progress, and the pride that swells in every ZISU heart – a shared honor forged in their long, luminous journey of striving for excellence.
“A brighter future” shows that ZISU will take the 70th anniversary as a new starting point to realize its lofty aspirations, through unfaltering innovation, and collective endeavor of faculty and staff, students and alumni, to build itself into an internationally prestigious foreign studies university distinguished by its contribution to serving new international relations.
II. Logo
This logo is designed with the concept of integration and mutual connection. It takes the Arabic numeral “70” as the graphic element, with “Chinese Red” and “Yves Klein International Blue” as the core colors, and incorporates the brushwork of traditional Chinese calligraphy. It demonstrates the beauty of integration between Chinese and foreign cultures and highlights the university’s aspirations of promoting Sino-foreign cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
The numeral “7” is inlaid with the colors of the Olympic rings, symbolizing ZISU’s important mission of cultivating high-end application-oriented talents with a strong sense of national identity and global citizenship, proficient in foreign languages, strong in digital intelligence capabilities, and capable of fulfilling the task of cultural exchange and mutual learning among civilizations, and communicating Chinese and Zhejiang culture worldwide.
The numeral “0” is based on the shape of a bridge, implying that the university is committed to building a bridge for communication between civilizations. The combination of the bridge and its reflection forms an “infinity symbol”, representing a new beginning and infinite possibilities in the school’s contribution to building a community with a shared future for mankind and on its new journey toward an “internationally prestigious foreign studies university”.
III. Mascot
The mascot “Little Zisu” takes the form of a perilla leaf whose Chinese pronunciation echoes the university’s acronym “ZISU”. This IP image adopts a modern minimalist style, carrying the meanings of “wisdom, connectivity, spirit, and culture”. The TCM herb zisu not only embodies the traditional Chinese wisdom, but also incarnates the academic excellence ZISU students are pursuing. “Connectivity” reiterates the university’s mission of cultivating application-oriented talents with a strong sense of national identity and global citizenship, proficient in foreign languages for cultural exchange and mutual learning. “Spirit” and “culture” highlight ZISU’s unique cultural heritage and its spirit of openness, inclusiveness, diligence, and innovation.
IV. Time and Venue of Activities
Celebrations will span the entire 2025, designated as the Anniversary Year. The focal point will be October 2025, the Anniversary Month, with the main event—the Anniversary Day—falling on the last Saturday of the month, October 25, 2025.
